For hundreds of years all mathematicians have characterized as being the most important number, now they come with the theory that Pi is living its last moments of glory. Experts say that the number - which is the ratio between the circumference and diameter of a circle - is incorrect and that should be replaced with an alternativevalue, which they call "Tau".
Even if they say the number value - 3.14159265 - is incorrect, it still can't be associated with the circle properties. Mathematicians now campaigning as school manuals to be corrected, using the number "Tau" which has twice the value of pi - that is 6.28.
Moreover, they declared June 28 ''The Tau Day''.
"All these years we have looked at the wrong number when we used the value of Pi" said Kevin Houston, professor of mathematics at the University of Leeds. "Pi is not the best natural number that we can join the circle. The number is actually 2Pi or Tau", he clames.
