Water With Ozone

What is water treated with ozone?
Water treated with ozone is a form of purification and water purification plants, i.e, a water treatment system. Specifically Ozone (O3) is a colorless gas with strong oxidizing capacity of organic matter, hence its use to disinfect water.

Thus it can be reused for both drinking and for irrigation. Even small devices can be installed to treat water with ozone in the home or the tanks or other devices for pools larger.
How does the water treatment with ozone?
Water treatment with ozone is based, as mentioned, the large capacity of oxidation that has this gas on organic matter. In fact, after the element fluorine is more capable of oxidation.

Which produces a fairly rapid and effective destruction of all they are organisms, including the dreaded virus and bacteria. This results in a germ-free water suitable for use in the above terms.

Benefits of water treatment with ozone

The advantages of ozone-treated water are diverse and notable for its greater efficiency compared to chlorine. The latter being the most common water disinfectant and used.
Treating water with ozone allows not only the elimination of harmful bacteria but also kills viruses that chlorine can not destroy.
  • Ozonation of water is between 600 and 3,000 times more effective than chlorine, because it takes far less amount of ozone than chlorine to achieve the same effect.
  • The ozone water treatment does not increase the content of inorganic salts, toxic chemicals in the water.
  • Ozonation is cheaper than super-chlorination and is the same economic investment that a normal chlorination, but prices are decreasing as the ozonation technology is improving.
  • Treating water with ozone eliminates odors and flavors that can produce some organic substances.
Disadvantages of water treatment with ozone

  • Ozonation has the disadvantage that ozone has an active life in the water about twenty minutes on average.
  • Water treated with ozone must be installed in situ and the means to do because it can not be transported.
  • Ozonation can produce nitric oxide or nitric acid, producing corrosive effects on the devices used to treat water with ozone.
  • Ozonation in the case of operators who work with big machines to treat water should take precautions in their use and exposure to ozone. These should be provided to safeguard their health, as the oxidizing power of ozone can affect the eyes and lungs.

Do you think that replacement cartridges for a Maytag water filter have been designed to be a top-notch water filtration mechanism, particularly when they come as 1 micron water filter standard equipment with most new refrigerators? Probably not!
